Just to say

I wont be able to actually use the name "Jellybean productions". There are far too many of them.

So I will be going with my second choice which is "Jam Sausage" since theres hardly any useing that name that I can find. In the near future. I will create a new blog with said name, and will be copying the old posts over.

Also, have an entertainingly pretentious image I have created as an attemt to promote myself and what I do.

Yes, I know its artsy and pretentious. I'm not a pretentious person really. Which is good, its the people who are that annoy me!.

Clauderine

Appearance:

Created by the Dr to resemble his dead love. She is a mash together of parts, skin, organs and whatnot. Her head sculpted from clay, so it's perfect as a doll. She appears to be the same age as when the real one died, which is around 24. Her dress is a creation of the Dr's too. Its a clashing mess of random fabrics hastily constructed into a period type dress. Long and flowing with a fitted bustier at the top and puff selves. Her hair (wig) is a long flowing chestnut curls, just like the real Clauderine.

Personality:

Completely blank, expressionless as she cant actually talk or express. The feelings and words are there, but she just doesn't have the “equipment” necessary to do so. She mimics the doctor.


History:

This Clauderine, obviously, does not have any history....unless we go into the history of every part the Dr used to create her....lets not....we would be here for decades.

So what did the designs look like?

As you can see, The dress is much different to the CG image and what I originaly had in mind. I was becoming pressed for time, and I just diddnt have the budget. So I made do with what I had.

Dr Leonard De'Myr

The main character in my animation!

Appearance:

Dr Leonard De'Myr is fairly tall, around 5ft 10”, though he doesn't always appear that tall due to standing hunched over all the time. His appearance is fairly scruffy, ragged, stressed. He's actually quite young at the age of 35, though he looks more like he's in his 50's. Mostly due to poor diet and lack of care for his own well-being. He wears a high necked long white lab coat, with big thick black gloves and big hulking black boots, the boots and gloves have belts and buckles on them. His hair is wild and grey, stuck up and swept back. His face is a reminder of how dangerous mad science can be. The left side of his mouth is a huge gaping scar, healed all wrong which makes him look like he has one side of a huge manic grin, showing muscles, gum and teeth. He's very gaunt and his eyes are wide and sunken. He wears a set of goggles so stupidly big they have to be important for something!, dials and buttons on them.

Personality:

In short....he's mad, insane, manic....and any other words you can think of that say the same thing. As you can imagine through years of being locked up....he's pretty paranoid and socially inept.

History:

He met his love Clauderine at the age of 20, fell madly in love and married her shortly after. The first year was bliss.....but after that Dr De'Myr began to lock himself away in his lab working day and night and barley seeing Clauderine. She fell ill with a terrible disease and eventually 5 years on from the marriage, it claimed her life. He tore himself away from his work too late, he couldn't save her and he didn't even notice that she was deathly ill. Realising what he had done he went into a madness of despair and depression and threw himself back into his work trying to forget his folly.

10 years passed when his madness, loneliness and depression took over and he began to plot a way to create “Clauderine”. He succeeds, but she isn't really complete, she cant talk or express. He then sets out to fix her, whilst struggling with his own mind, knowing what he's created is wrong, and shouldn't be. But giving into what he wants is far far easier than doing what's right.

Thats the Jist of him.

Where did I get my inspiration?
Lots of places, mostly burton, a little vasquez, but alot from a certain man named Simon Quigley, who put the mad scientist idea in my head and rekindled my love for the recluse that they are.

Next up is Clauderine.

I fail at updates!

Ok, so I havnt updated for MONTHS!

I have been doing uni work.

My animation is actually finished and ready for handin. Its not as amazing as I hoped it would be, but, it's done. I'm treating it as a WIP. Once I've graduated, I'll be redoing it slowly, with more time, more money and better equipment hopefully.

So, I should probablly show you something huh?

Well I dont feel good about putting my movie online until its been handed in. So I wont be uploading it anywhere for a few weeks.

So make do with the pre production work...which I should have posted up ages ago.

So,How about some storyboard, storyline and character doctuments?

I'd give you storyboards...but its HUGE! and a huge chunk of it was actually animated differently or taken out because it just wouldnt work.


Well whatever. This post will mark the start of a stream of posts for different things.....all done....today...mwahahahahaha.

Mad Science

I should like.....write something.
I dont think anyone knows I'm on here o.0.....I should make a post on my LJ and facebook or something.

Anyway.

Since this blog is for my third year uni animation work and then after that it will be for my....well animation ident, I shoudl get around to posting some things about my animation.

The theme is Mad Science and at the moment...thats what it's also called. The animation will be done in stop motion and is looking to be close to 5 minutes long if I'm insane enough.

The story is about a mad scientist "Dr. Leonard De'Myr" who through being so engrosed in his lab work, ignored his wife "Clauderine". She fell ill and died, it was too late by the time Dr De'Myr had realized, he couldn't save her. So he goes into the usual self loathing thing, locks himself away in his lab with his work. Until one day, he gets sick of his work, his mind catches up with him and he decides to create a replica of his dead wife, knowing its wrong, but he doesn't care. He just wants company and he wants Clauderine.

So we get to see him laughing like a maniac, creating her body parts, putting her together, making her a dress!. Then giving her life. Of course, it seems like it hasn't worked. We see a distraught Dr as he holds his head in his hands. Then a hand touches his shoulder. Yep, Claudering. It did work. BUT, she is a living doll, she cant talk or express with her face, but shes there.

The aniamtion ends with him saying "I see........I see Clauderine....this...I can fix."

Then he starts cackling, and she copies him, then her arm falls off and he recoils in terror. YEY!

So thats the jist, I'll upload some form of script and story outline and character files at some point. But below is a recent photoshop coloured sketch of the Dr. I say sketch. Its cleaned up and stuff and the lines are clear. I did it from start to finish with a graphics tablet.

I have no idea if it goes bigger when you click it....probablly does.

I dont have anything in the computer of Clauderine yet, but I'm working on it :)

So yes. all stop motion, though I would like to do a few little 2D animations of him....being a retard most likley.
